Wikkit Solves A Very Big Problem Combining Facebook, Foursquare, Groupon & Eventbrite In One Platform

Wikkit is the future of local commerce -- linking social networking and game mechanics with the point of sale.

According to an article on TechCrunch, Facebook, Foursquare, Yelp and Groupon are all missing something.

As guest columnist David Marcus writes:

"Facebook Places is lacking the gaming mechanics of Foursquare, the reviews of Yelp, and the local deals of Groupon. Foursquare is missing scale in its discounted offers. Yelp is missing the reach of the social graph, and the embedded payments. Groupon is lacking core social graph features that would give it better relevance through social shopping."

The problem is this: "considering that Local Commerce will be mostly mobile, one of these companies still must bring all of these features together."

Well guess what David, Wikkit solves all of this in one unified platform.

Game Mechanics? We have that covered with Wikkit Tribes and Wikkit Challenges. With Wikkit Tribes, you can create a tribe to join forces with your friends and enjoy even better deals when you travel as a pack. Compete with other Tribes to dominate the scene and unlock exclusive promotions and prizes.

For example, in our McFadden's Las Vegas Challenge, Wikkit Tribes competed for a $200 cash prize just for showing up and having their wikkit scanned at the door.

Social Networking? Everyone on Wikkit gets a personal Slate page that shows events you're going to, events you've gone to and who's in your Tribe. While you're out, use your smart phone to scan ("wikk") another person's Wikkit to become "Wikkees" and build a network of people who actually go out!

Don't forget wireless event tickets!
This is the bedrock of our system, which allows any venue or merchant no matter how big or small can create an event on Wikkit and sell (or giveaway) wireless tickets. All you need to accept/scan tickets at the door is our free iPhone or Droid app (we're also compatible with wired/USB scanners for larger venues and events).

For example, Yorganic in NYC (3 Hanover Square) is using Wikkit to run a "buy one get one free" soup and yogurt promotion this Friday (November 5th) - check out the Yorganic flyer:

Today Apple approved the latest version of Wikkit's free iPhone app (version 1.1) -- it's a qr code reader, ticket scanning app, social networking platform and more all rolled into one!

As you can see from this screenshot, the new Wikkit app has a "myWikkit" feature so you can get your own personal wikkit, which is your key to accessing concerts, free promos and all that Wikkit has to offer!

Thew new Wikkit app also has a fun "shake to wikk" feature ... no need to press the "Wikk" (aka scan) button anymore (unless you want to).

Make sure that you download the latest version of Apple's software (v. 4.1) to run the Wikkit app on your iPhone.

Don't forget to follow Wikkit on Twitter and on Facebook. You can also watch all the Wikkit videos on YouTube or on on Wikkit.com.

Wikkit featured in GoMo News!!!

Earlier today GoMo News published a feature story about Wikkit and how Wikkit is bringing low cost concert and event tickets to venues, colleges, bars and restaurants across the country.

The article focuses on Wikkit's current "tickets via text message" service (which also includes free drink and VIP club admission promos that can be texted to almost any cell phone) and previews the upcoming integration of a social networking platform into the ticketing software (all using wikkits).

Highlighting the fact that Wikkit is about more than just wireless/mobile tickets and social networking, the GoMo News article also drops the word about the upcoming iTunes release of The Wikkit Song (A Wikkit Changed My Life) by Sticky Wikkit on iTunes later this month.

Ticketmaster still just doesn't get it

According to a post earlier today on Ticketmaster's blog (http://bit.ly/bmUIkC) --

"All of our conversations with fans like you tell us that the way we present these fees in the check out process is a huge frustration for you and hurts ticket sales. You just want to know UP FRONT in the buying process how much of your hard earned money you are being asked to pay for a given seat . . . The problem is that historically we haven't told you how much you have to pay for a given seat until very late in the buying process. And our data tells us this angers many of you to the point that you abandon your purchase once you see the total cost, and that you don't come back."

ARE YOU KIDDING TICKETMASTER? At least for this fan of live music (and the rest of us here at Wikkit), what people really care about are HOW MUCH we're being asked to pay in fees, not WHEN we're told about how much we're getting ripped off!!!
