As reported yesterday by the San Francisco Chronicle, "services like Facebook Places and Foursquare make it easy to 'check in' to places without actually going to them."
Unlike these services, Wikkit puts local businesses (like Yorganic) in control of user check-ins by providing a free scanning app and sending offers to customers via 2d barcodes ("wikkits").
